1. Queen Elizabeth National Park: This national park is known for its diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalos, and hippos. It also offers breathtaking scenery with its savannah plains, lakes, and mountains.

2. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: This park is famous for being home to half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Visitors can go on gorilla trekking expeditions to see these majestic creatures up close.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Gorilla trekking

It’s gorilla time, make sure to have your passport with you as officials at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park office will need to verify your trekking permit against your identification. 

After a quick briefing on safety measures and what to expect during the day, you will be assigned to a group of a maximum of 8 people for your gorilla family search and visit.

Day 1:

– Your Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari driver/guide will meet you at your accommodation at 7am. An early morning start from Kampala takes you southwest and across the Equator. 

– Lunch will be provided en-route at Mbarara. You will be arriving in the evening at the accommodation in Bwindi. Dinner and Overnight at a lodge you desire. Budget or Mid-range.

– After settling in, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the nearby surroundings and getting acquainted with the stunning natural beauty of the area.

Day 2:

– Wake up early in the morning and have a hearty breakfast.

– Head to the park headquarters and attend a briefing about gorilla trekking guidelines and safety measures.

– Embark on a thrilling gorilla trekking expedition with experienced guides, who will lead you deep into the forest to find the habituated gorilla families. After finding the gorillas you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them.

– After the trek, return to your accommodation and relax for the evening.

-The walks can take 3-9 hours depending on where you find the gorillas. Being physically fit is recommended.

Day 3:

– On your last day, you can choose from various optional activities such as nature walks, bird watching, or visiting nearby communities to learn about their cultures and traditions.

– Alternatively, you can extend your stay for another gorilla trekking experience or explore other attractions in the area.

– In the afternoon, check out from your accommodation and transfer back to your departure point or continue your journey to other destinations. Please note that this is just a sample itinerary and can be customized based on your preferences and the availability of activities.

3 DAYS

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1:

Our Guide will pick you up very early (6am) from either Entebbe or Kampala before starting the long journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. This journey takes between 5 to 6 hours and every mile will be worth your while.

Lunch will be in Mbarara town or another location depending on how the trip goes. Ugandan local food is very tasty and won’t leave you the same. You will reach the park around early in the afternoon. Check into your hotel if time allows or go straight for the afternoon boat cruise at the Kazinga channel.

– This is a great opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

– Evening: Enjoy a relaxing dinner at your accommodation and rest up for the next day’s activities.

Day 2:

Morning:

Embark on an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. This is the best time to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife.

Afternoon:

Visit the Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee tracking experience. Hike through the lush forest and observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

– Evening: Visit the Katwe Salt Lake for a guided tour. Learn about the traditional salt extraction process and admire the scenic views of the lake during sunset.

Day 3:

Morning:

Take a guided nature walk in the Maramagambo Forest. Discover its diverse flora including bat caves and unique bird species.

Afternoon:

Visit Kololo falls. 

Evening:

Enjoy a sundowner at the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. Watch the sunset while keeping an eye out for these magnificent animals.

Remember to pack appropriate clothing, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a good camera for capturing the amazing wildlife and landscapes.
